I was wandering around looking at web design site and came across this pretty nifty site. From there I found this which allows you to type in some text and create something like this;

typo

To create that I used my sight slogan: Take everything you like seriously, except yourselves. - Rudyard Kipling . Pretty cool hey?

And then I went here which creates a montage like below from a Google image search. I used the term Balatro and it created this;

This is just a small selection from what it created, as they are all thumbs of images here on my site there are no copyright problems.

This post title will probably generate a lot of Google search hits.

Taken last fall in the park and, as usual, manipulated.

Wired News: School RFID Plan Gets an F

Parents of elementary and middle school students in a small California town are protesting a tracking program their school recently launched, which requires students to wear identification badges embedded with radio frequency, or RFID, chips.

School superintendents struck a deal with a local maker of the technology last year to test the system to track attendance and weed out trespassers.

They even had scanners in the bathrooms…

I am way out of touch with what is going on in the more uh, fundamental Christian type philosophies but I am quite sure that this kind of thing is getting discussed a great deal with respect to certain versus from The Book of Revelations.

He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

I find this technology, or more accurately the inevitable ways this technology will be used to be, frankly, disturbing.

Imagine a world were everything you are carrying, wearing can be identified and tracked from a distance, without your knowledge. Privacy? What privacy?

“He who trades liberty for security, deserves neither and will loose both.” T. Jefferson
“He who gives up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety.” B. Franklin

Now I worked in materials management and inventory control at a major book manufacturer for quite a number of years and this technology would be absolutely wonderful in that application. The ability to walk past a rack of materials with scanner in hand and get a complete inventory. Oh, my.

I can’t help but believe that folks like the police are thinking along the same lines. Just drive down the street in the old squad car and ID everyone as you pass by.

Think about it.

These things are about the size of a grain of sand. They can be put anywhere, in anything. Like money.

The possibilities for abuse are just endless. Below are just a couple of links to other articles on RFID’s

New Scientist Psychedelic medicine: Mind bending, health giving

Clinical trials of psychedelic drugs are planned or under way at numerous centres around the world for conditions ranging from anxiety to alcoholism. It may not be long before doctors are legally prescribing hallucinogens for the first time in decades. “There are medicines here that have been overlooked, that are fundamentally valuable,” says Halpern.

And the side effects are a lot more fun too.

Buried in the usual morning flood of email spam I found a little gem of a phishing attempt. Supposedly from the bank I actually happen to use. At first glance it looked like it might be legitimate. Graphics were all right etc. Of course it was stating that my account had been used fraudulently and had been suspended and I need to log into the helpfully provided link to re-enter my info . You know, like my login and Social Security number etc.. Right. Besides the facts that the bank would never do that and I had never given them that e-mail address the email was full of misspellings.

I forwarded a copy to my banks fraud department.

The sad thing is some folks will fall for those things.

Hmm, if someone steals my identity do they get my debts and stuff too?
